As a young person I jotted down impressions:  the scent of a wet dog, the beauty of color, the weight of guilt. I wrote to understand the human condition. How do we survive loneliness, loss and love? My interests led me to pursue an MFA in fiction writing, completed in 2007 at Kansas University. I focus on short fiction and recently completed The Hesitation of Olivia Austin, a novel.
